Responding to a request from Bangwanate Disabled Centre, Platreef sponsored a transformative athletics event for children with special needs in Tshamahansi in late 2024. The event brought together students from three local schools, fostering both physical activity and community connection.

Working with the Department of Basic Education, organizers created an inclusive program featuring soccer, netball, tug of war, and sack racing. Each participant received commemorative items including t-shirts and medals, while top performers earned trophies for their achievements.

The initiative supports several UN Sustainable Development Goals, including Health and Well-being, Quality Education, and Gender Equality. Beyond promoting physical fitness, the event built confidence among young participants and strengthened community bonds.
